Allan has worked with Anchor for five years and heads up the Anchor Academy. The Academy delivers quality training and continuing professional development (CPD) programmes to all employees. He provides a full range of related services, such as workplace visits, regional support, student assessment, internal verification, audits, learner documentation, lesson plans/manuals/materials, full apprenticeship training, ERR, PLTS and technical certification to his students.
Over the years, Allan has accomplished an impressive learner success rate, with 90% of students taught now holding management or supervisory positions in their field of choice or moving on to further themselves in higher education. It is Allan's gift of being able to enthuse and encourage employees to embark on the Academy courses which has brought him such high success rates. Allan believes in Maslow's hierarchy of needs, which is a motivational theory in psychology comprising a five tier model of human needs, often depicted as hierarchical levels within a pyramid. Maslow stated that people are motivated to achieve certain needs and that some needs take precedence over others. Our most basic need is for physical survival, and this will be the first thing that motivates our behaviour. Once that level is fulfilled the next level up is what motivates us, and so on.
Allan fluently communicates with all stakeholders and is often invited to presentations when bidding for new contracts to talk about the Academy, his personable manner and expertise in his field brings the Academy to life.
In his spare time he enjoys travelling and current affairs.
