We demonstrate our commitment to our employees via our ongoing investment in training and development. We recognise that it is a fundamental requirement of all staff to receive professional training to enable them to perform the tasks and duties expected of them.

Anchor’s commitment to training and development has recently seen the group create its own internal Academy. Anchor have now provided in excess of 500 employees with NVQ or Diploma level qualifications.

Anchor’s training Academy is now a learning provider and can self-deliver any vocational qualification relevant to our employees working environment via The Skills Network.

Courses include:

  • Customer services Apprenticeship (Including World host)
  • NVQ 2 Conflict management
  • NVQ 2 Team leading
  • British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) Levels 2 – 5 Facilities Services
  • National Diploma Cleaning services

Where employees require more basic training, our in house tutor Alan Woods holds 'Preparing to Teach in The Lifelong Learning Sector' - a qualification which enables him to also deliver Maths, English and IT qualifications.

These practical training courses utilise distance learning platforms and are assessed in the employees working environment by Anchor Academy Tutor, Alan Woods. Learning in this manner means that there is no cost to our clients and government funding pays for exam and registration fees.  This enables Anchor to offer our clients a high standard of training, without the requirement for an inflated training budget.

Employee training requirements are identified through:

  • Performance appraisals
  • Assessments by senior managers
  • Individuals’ self assessment
  • Site-specific training

For employee's transfering to Anchor under TUPE, we will evaluate their current level of training, immediate training requirements and look out for future potential in an individual who may wish to undertake a workplace qualification.

“The investment in the staff by their employer, is one of the indicators that make Anchor stand out above the rest”
