What a fantastic year 2023 has been for Anchor Group Services! From sponsoring and taking part in charity events, new environmental innovations, and several groundbreaking advancements in our service offerings to benefit our clients, 2023 has had it all. Let’s run through some of this year’s biggest highlights:

Community

At Anchor, our culture is at the heart of everything we do. We care about our community and dedicate time to sponsoring and taking part in worthwhile local causes.

This year, we teamed up with our client, Peel L&P to sponsor and take part in two charity events. In May this year, our team took on a scenic 5-mile trek for the Bridgewater Way Walk, raising nearly £48,000 in total for The Christie. Our sporting efforts were again called upon in August where we took part in the annual Dragon Boat Race at Liverpool Waters, raising over £35,000 for Claire House.

In 2023, in addition to other causes, we were sponsors for the Flintshire Girls U12 football team, supplying them with a brand new ‘Anchor’ branded kit, a Memory Tree at the annual Chester Cathedral Christmas Tree Festival and were entertainment sponsors for The Percy Hedley Foundation Mistletoe Ball, a fantastic event which raised over £70,000 for the charity.

Environment

In 2023, we continued our journey to net zero carbon emissions by 2025. To reach this goal, we have welcomed a number of new innovations, including switches to more environmentally friendly solutions at our sites, such V-Air SOLID and Soap o2. We are also on our way to eliminating carbon emissions from transport completely by 2025 as we look to switch all fleet vehicles to electric.

Partnerships and certifications

We were lucky in 2023 to enter several new partnerships with likeminded businesses in order to continue to deliver brilliant and innovative services to our clients.

In April, Anchor were delighted to welcome TAM-C Solutions. TAM-C have a long history of supporting major organisations in the UK with Actionable Intelligence products and Anchor clients can now benefit from these products through our 24hr Anchor Operations Centre.

In September, PAL Protect Consultancy, Anchor’s security consultancy division became the only UK partner for SHORE Certification. Created by SAFE Asset Group, the SHORE Certification is an internationally recognised resilience certification programme for SAFE Hospitality, Offices, Retail and Exhibitions assets (SHORE). It is currently the only global solution for evaluating and certifying operational risk and resilience for individual assets and property portfolios.

We were also proud to have this year received our Brivio Technical Certification and our Paxton Access Certification, enabling us to install and maintain both Brivo Cloud Based Access Control Systems and Paxton Access Control Systems for our clients.

Advancements in service

Back in June, we were proud to unveil our brand new HGV Route Management solution using ANPR technology. This innovative solution has already been successfully implemented at several client sites, allowing for improved efficiency and service, as well as increased legal and safety compliance and reduced environmental impact.

Awards

In July, we were over the moon to receive the results of this year’s NSI – National Security Inspectorate. We achieved a Security Industry Authority (SIA) Approved Contractor Scheme Workbook Assessment score of 134 and 0 improvement needs, putting Anchor Group Services in the top 2.5% of approved contractors! A huge thank you to our team and clients at Market Place Shopping Centre, Bolton and Harpurhey Shopping Centre who took part in the audit.

And to end the year on a high, in December we were proud to reveal that with the support of Anchor Group Services and our parking division, Ocean Parking, centre:mk achieved the highest certification of its kind, the British Parking Association Park Mark Plus Award. Congratulations to all involved!

Welcoming industry experts

And that’s not all that’s new this year. In 2023, we also welcomed the following senior hires to our Head Office team. Director of Parking Strategy for Ocean Parking, Gary Lee, Business Development Manager for Technical Services, Daryl Prance, Regional Operations Manager for the South, Robert Wells, Group Business Development Manager, Bob Davies and FM Consultant for PAL Protect Consultancy, Geoff Grateley.
